Academic Sources & Attribution
QiFlow's Xingfa-pai (Form School) spatial morphology analysis draws on traditional Yangzhai Fengshui's Form School methods, primarily evaluating geometric properties such as room shape, spatial proportion, and room layout.
The Form School (Xingfa-pai) is a major branch of traditional Chinese Fengshui, originating in the Han Dynasty and maturing during the Song-Ming period. Its core principle is 'Form determines function, energy flows through form' — spatial morphology determines energy flow. Representative classical texts include 《阳宅十书》(Ten Books on Yang Dwellings), 《阳宅撮要》(Compendium of Yang Dwellings), and 《地理人子须知》(Essential Knowledge for Geomancers), all of which have entered the public domain.
Our implementation approach:
- •Algorithm layer: Pure mathematical judgment based on geometric morphology (aspectRatio, centrality, cornerCutRatio), without reproducing any classical text or judgment templates verbatim
- •Rule layer: Only 2 geometry-signal-validated general rules are enabled (living room off-center, L-shaped cut corner), without any Fengshui-school-specific terminology
- •Output layer: Uses plain-language labels (e.g. 'Living room off-center', 'L-shaped corner'), without traditional Fengshui judgment terms (e.g. 'sheng qi', 'sha qi', 'auspicious/inauspicious')
- •User layer: All results are explicitly labeled as 'spatial morphology assessment', not Fengshui diagnosis, for environmental optimization reference only
